One of the most recognizable and enduring designs of the 20th century. This Barcelona Pavilion chair was originally designed by Mies Van der Rohe in 1929 to serve as seating for the king and queen of Spain at the International Exposition in Barcelona, hence its name. The set features a polished solid-core stainless steel frame for maximum strength. The displayed Pavilion Chair cushions are upholstered in 100% genuine leather on the top and sides of each cushion.
Ludwig Mies van der Rohe (born Maria Ludwig Michael Mies; March 27, 1886 - August 17, 1969) was a German-American architect. He is commonly referred to and was addressed as Mies, his surname. Along with Le Corbusier and Frank Lloyd Wright, he is widely regarded as one of the pioneering masters of modern architecture.
